How To Select The Right Tutor?

Connecting with the right tutor is the most important step towards a great student’s experience.
Step#1
Identify the type of help needed.
Live Sessions requests are very obvious.
But sometimes, homework help or tutoring is not very clear.
If you could not understand the type of help needed based on the available info (chat, files shared), DO NOT GUESS!
Ask the student/parent the below (I have added this in Interakt’s Quick Replies with the title “Clarification: HW Or Tutoring”)
“Do you need the tutor to solve question/assignment for you and send it to your Email/WhatsApp when it is done?
Or you want to connect with the tutor and learn how to do it together?”
Step#2
Identify the subject correctly.
Check the Chat carefully. If not very clear, ask the student what subject is this.
If it is still not clear, check the files shared. Most of the times, you can get the subject there.
Still not clear? Use Google/ChatGPT etc.
Tip: You can also upload the shared file/files to ChatGPT and ask it about the subject and the type of tutor who can do it.
Step#3
Use the “Tutor Selection Tab” to identify the right tutor.
We keep changing the tutor’s ratings. We keep adding new tutors in our list and we keep deleting bad tutors from our list.
It is impossible for you to remember.
Checking the tutor selection tab is the only option. Do NOT use the data stored in “your brain”!
Prioritization Guide
1. Prioritize Preffered Tutors (10/10 ratings, in bright Green Background) and the tutors with higher ratings.
Try to get fee quotation from our preffered tutors. Call them if required. Follow up with them more.
The goal is to get most of the work done by these preffered tutors.
2. Next priority should be the tutors right below the preffered tutors. Follow up with them. But if the preffered tutor is already ready no need to waste lot of time with other tutors.
3. Last priority should be the lower ranked tutors!
Check lower ratings tutors only when preffered tutors or better ranked tutors
- can NOT do the work or they are not responding
- their fee is not acceptable to the student
4. If you still could not find tutors, search in the “TUTORS” tab.
5. If there also you could not find tutor, FIND NEW TUTORS on LinkedIn/TeacherOn.
