Job Description

My Engineering Buddy is looking for experienced and highly skilled Electrical Engineering tutors to provide online tutoring and homework help to students worldwide. We are seeking candidates who can handle challenging academic problems and have an exceptional grasp of Electrical Engineering, particularly in solving problems on-demand. This position requires specialized knowledge and a deep understanding of key concepts in Electrical Engineering.

Why is this Role Important?

Students often struggle with areas like circuit analysis, electromagnetics, control systems, and power systems, making personalized support essential for their academic success. We prioritize tutors with advanced degrees (PhD or Master’s) and extensive tutoring experience with international students. Prior experience with platforms like Chegg, CourseHero, Wyzant, or Preply is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct online tutoring sessions and offer high-quality homework help.
  • Solve complex Electrical Engineering problems across various subfields like digital electronics, analog circuits, signal processing, and more.
  • Work with international students from regions such as the U.S., Europe, Australia, and the Gulf countries.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to high academic integrity standards.
  • Comply with My Engineering Buddy’s strict policy on confidentiality and no direct contact with students.

Areas of Expertise

Tutors must be proficient in areas like electronic circuits, electrical machines, renewable energy systems, telecommunications, and microelectronics. Whether it’s helping students with control systems problems, power system simulations, or VLSI design, the tutor’s role is to simplify complex concepts.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field (or currently pursuing one).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably tutoring students abroad.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Meet, Google Sheets, and common assignment submission formats.
  • Technical setup: Stable broadband, laptop/tablet with a camera, microphone, and digital pen.
  • Fluent English communication with a neutral or slightly foreign accent.
  • Proficiency in tools like MATLAB, PSpice, and Multisim to assist students with simulations and technical problem-solving is a plus.

Pay & Compensation

Hourly Rate: ₹500 – ₹1,500 based on the complexity of the work, the student’s profile, and the session timings.

For tutoring sessions, the fee is fixed before the session. For homework help, you will be notified of the fee upfront, and you can choose to accept or decline the work. We ensure timely payment with no unnecessary delays.

Additional Information

This is a freelance position with no guaranteed hours. Tutors are contacted on a job-by-job basis, and there is no obligation for regular work. We try to distribute assignments fairly among all tutors to avoid favoritism.

Many students in Electrical Engineering face challenges such as circuit analysis, signal processing, and power system design. Tutors who can adapt quickly and solve problems efficiently will excel in this role.

Global applicants are welcome. However, compensation may be more suitable for those residing in countries with a lower cost of living.

Non-Disclosure Policy

Sharing personal contact information or discussing fees directly with students is strictly prohibited. Violations of this policy will result in removal from our platform.
