My Engineering Buddy (MEB) is a private online tutoring service founded in 2008 by Pankaj Kumar and operated by BlueAura iSolutions Private Limited. We connect students in the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia and the Gulf with private 1:1 tutors for live sessions on Google Meet, across more than 2,800 subjects from school level to PhD.

Our Mission
To make world-class private tutoring accessible and affordable to every student, wherever they are.
A classroom divides one teacher’s attention across thirty or forty students. A private tutor gives you all of it — adapting to your pace, and answering the question you actually have rather than the one the curriculum expects you to have. Almost every student would benefit enormously from that. Almost none of them can get it easily or affordably. MEB exists to close that gap.
We are not a platform. You cannot browse profiles and book a stranger without a human being involved. We are a service: real people who read what you need, choose the right expert, and stay involved to make sure it turns out the way we promised. This is slower and far less scalable than the platform model. It is also why our satisfaction rate is 97%, and why most of our new students arrive by referral from an existing one.
Our focus for this phase is not growth. It is holding the standard that got us here while we grow.
The Founder’s Story
Pankaj Kumar’s route to founding MEB was not a straight line. He trained as a marine engineer at MERI Kolkata, graduated in 2004, and went to sea as a 4th Engineer on oil tankers. In 2007 he was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome — a serious kidney condition — and was advised to leave the navy. He spent the next few years managing his health and looking for a direction.
He began tutoring physics online. Working from home suited his recovery. It also revealed something he had not expected: he was genuinely good at explaining physics, students in the USA and the Gulf badly needed exactly that, and the internet made it possible to reach them from anywhere. In 2011, with encouragement and co-founding support from Anthony Khoury — one of his own students, in Canada — he launched My Physics Buddy properly.
The early months were hard. He taught JEE preparation classes in Patna by day while building the online business at night. By February 2011 the online side had enough momentum to take over entirely. The expansion into engineering, then all of STEM, then far beyond, followed from student demand and from the sheer quality of tutors available from India’s top institutions.
What MEB is today comes directly from a view Pankaj formed the hard way: that access to a genuinely excellent tutor changes outcomes, that most students do not have it, and that the internet can fix this — if you use it to connect real people rather than to replace them. The human helpline, the manual tutor matching, the refusal to put AI anywhere near a student: all of it traces back to that.
