NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy)

NAPLAN stands for National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy. It’s an annual series of tests in reading, writing, language conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy, taken by Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Schools use results to spot strengths, address gaps and track progress.

Also called the NAPLAN test, literacy and numeracy assessment or national school exam, many parents and tutors simply say “NAPLAN.”
