About S Kumar

I majored in Electronics and have dedicated my career to the art and science of teaching engineering. I have been fortunate to work with some of the most prestigious institutions and to witness firsthand the transformation of raw ideas into tangible projects. With a blend of research, real-world application, and academic excellence, my approach is both methodical and innovative. I hold a PhD from IIT Bombay and am currently pursuing a Post doc at IISc Bangalore, an experience that has enriched my understanding of advanced electronics and fostered a love for lifelong learning. Over the years, I have mentored over 1000 hardware projects and delivered countless online projects and assignments that have solidified my expertise in subjects such as VLSI design, computer architecture, and embedded programming. I recall an early moment in my career when I labored over a complex simulation of a Phase Locked Loop (PLL) using Cadence Virtuoso—a challenge that not only tested my resilience but also deepened my passion for electronics. My teaching style is centered around clarity and practical problem solving, ensuring that every student not only grasps theoretical concepts but also gains the confidence to tackle practical challenges with creativity and precision.

S Kumar's Reviews

  • Inconsistent Tutoring Experience Despite Tutor’s Passion

" I tried their online tutoring for my daughter—I’m her mother. They promise enthusiastic Electrical Engineering support, but the tutor matching often felt random. Communication is erratic, and sessions sometimes start late. I wouldn’t recommend them overall. That said, the tutor’s passion for teaching is really what’s special about this service. "

  • Frustrating Delays Despite Promised Support

" Hello MyEngineeringBuddy.com, I’m Annie M’s mother, and I’m really fed up with your so-called support. I reached out on WhatsApp for 1:1 online tutoring in Electrical Engineering. After waiting what felt like ages, you matched us with S Kumar at a nominal trial fee. The sessions took place on Google Meet, with follow-ups via email. But the constant delays in scheduling and responses are infuriating. "

  • A Long, Clunky Process with Mixed Results

" I signed A. Hopkins up for an ALEKS Genetics assignment through My Engineering Buddy, but it turned into a pretty long, drawn-out ordeal. S. Konar did try to help, but communication was sporadic and his feedback often felt vague—we ended up having to Google most of the concepts ourselves. The whole setup runs over WhatsApp and email, which just made things feel clunky. In the end, A. Hopkins scraped by with a C. "

  • Disappointing LabVIEW Tutoring Experience

" I’m furious at how poor the service was. I’m his friend and watched Jason struggle through a LabVIEW session. The tutor barely explained anything and we still paid the full hourly rate for almost no productive time. Communication only on WhatsApp felt impersonal and left a lot of questions unanswered. After these sessions Jason’s grades actually slipped, and his confidence took a hit instead of improving. I can’t recommend them. "

  • Frustrated by constant tutor changes and poor quality

" I’m furious with Engineering Buddy. As his mother, I signed him up for online Genetics tutoring because they promised a quick match over WhatsApp. But weeks went by and tutors kept changing. The one we finally got barely knew basic Mendelian ratios. Sessions on Google Meet felt like random lectures, and the trial fee we paid was basically wasted. Customer care just repeated the same script over and over without offering any real solutions. I’m at my wit’s end—no follow-ups, no improvements. Does the student recommend the tutor? No, absolutely not. "

  • Polite Tutor, But Disappointing Support and Pricing

" I was reading reviews about various online tutoring companies on a website when I came across them... I’m Darwin’s mother and he fell ill last week, so homework deadlines piled up. S Kumar stepped in to handle his electrical engineering assignments and was polite throughout. However, support was slow at times, and the hourly rate felt steep. Overall, I expected more. I can’t recommend this service. "

  • Frustrating Experience with Slow, Unclear Tutoring

" I signed up because my son’s biology homework on enzyme kinetics was impossible for him to tackle without real guidance. After endless back-and-forth, the tutor finally sent usable solutions over WhatsApp—but the communication was sloppy and always delayed, which was maddening. Scheduling appointments was a nightmare, and what was supposed to be a free trial ended up costing a decent chunk of money. Other services we tried were much more responsive and offered clearer explanations. "

  • Promising Content, Poor Reliability

" Her test scores went up modestly after the sessions. I’m her aunt, explaining that she reached out for standard test prep in Electrical Machines through online tutoring. At first everything seemed fine; then scheduling issues piled up and the tutor often canceled or didn’t show. She felt let down. Communication via WhatsApp was awkward. I wouldn’t recommend this service. "
